Taking your first trip to a shooting range can be exciting—and a little intimidating. You might be wondering what to bring, what to wear, or what the environment will be like. At Next Level Ranges, we understand how important that new to shooting experience is, and we’ve built everything around making it as safe, welcoming, and beginner-friendly as possible.

Whether you’re brand new to firearms or just returning after a long break, our modern range is designed to help you feel confident and supported from the moment you walk in.

Step 1: A Warm Welcome at the Front Desk

From the moment you arrive, our goal is to eliminate the guesswork. You’ll be greeted by our front desk team—real people who genuinely enjoy introducing newcomers to the world of shooting. They’ll help you check in, answer any questions, and guide you through the basics of how the range operates.

You’ll fill out a brief waiver (which can often be completed online ahead of time), provide a valid form of ID, and go through a quick orientation if it’s your first visit.

Step 2: Safety Comes First

At Next Level Ranges, safety isn’t just a policy—it’s part of the culture. Every visitor, whether experienced or brand new, must follow the 4 basic rules of firearm safety:

  1. Treat all guns as if they are loaded.
  2. Never point a firearm at anything you are not willing to destroy.
  3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target.
  4. Be sure of your target and what’s beyond it.

If you’ve never handled a firearm before, we recommend starting with our Basic Handgun classe. These are taught by experienced instructors who know how to make beginners feel comfortable, answer questions without judgment, and walk you through everything step-by-step.

Step 3: Range Setup That’s Built for You

Next Level Ranges is not your average shooting range. Our facility is designed with comfort, technology, and accessibility in mind:

  • Clean, bright, climate-controlled shooting bays
  • Programmable target systems with easy lane controls
  • Sound-dampening materials for a more comfortable experience
  • Spacious stalls with secure shelving and clear dividers

Whether you’ve brought your own firearm or plan to rent one of ours, our range staff will walk you through setting up your lane and getting started.

Step 4: Not Sure What to Bring? We’ve Got You Covered.

Don’t worry if you don’t have all the gear. We offer rentals for firearms, hearing protection, and eye protection. Just wear comfortable clothes (closed-toe shoes are required) and bring your curiosity.

Our retail space also offers ammo, targets, and helpful accessories if you want to pick something up while you’re here.

Step 5: Support Every Step of the Way

First-time shooters often worry they’ll be left alone or feel out of place. Not here. Our range safety officers (RSOs) and instructors are always nearby, keeping a watchful eye on every lane, offering guidance when needed, and creating a no-pressure atmosphere where questions are always welcome.

Many of our visitors start out nervous and leave feeling proud, empowered, and excited to return. We’re here to make sure that’s your experience, too.

Step 6: Continue Your Journey

After your first visit, you might want to keep going. We offer:

Our mission is to help you grow from new shooter to confident, skilled firearms owner—at your own pace.
